Scanning on deck

Today the last of the three anchors, the still complete stern anchor, was recovered and 3D scanned directly on deck. This was necessary in order to be able to transport the anchor safely and to enable later conservation and restoration. For this purpose, the anchor was disassembled immediately after scanning by separating the two-part wooden anchor stock from the iron part.
