Divers make sensational find

Centuries-old Hanseatic ship found in the river Trave

Divers from the WSA Ostsee checked the seabed of the Trave to rule out any danger from the various objects lying on the bottom. What they then found turned out to be a real sensational find for the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, the history of the Hanseatic League and the archaeologists of the world. The divers determined that it was a wooden ship (presumably historical). An oak frame with wooden nails and a sample of the cargo (concrete-like) are recovered.
