Control dive after uncovering

Large parts of the stern of the hanseatic ship were exposed

On 15.06.2023, an inspection of the wide parts of the stern exposed by dredging work was carried out during a dive. Working with the dredge leads to the fact that the diver is sometimes in poor visibility. The video shows the dredge itself and illustrates how carefully the underwater archaeologist proceeds. The stern was filmed extensively from all sides. On the starboard side, you can see the recess for the planks, and on the port side, a strake is still preserved. The diver finds half of a wooden pulley that was part of the ship's rigging. Also seen a European shore crab sitting on a knee timber that was used to stabilize the deck planks, and a large slide-like iron object can be seen.
