Lifting the keel

After the sternpost had been transported ashore the day before, today the keel was lifted. The keel, which consisted of three sections, was found completely undamaged. The biggest challenge for the archaeologists was the 11.5 m long central section, which could only be lifted with the help of a spreader bar.
